Human Trafficking Awareness

Did you know that our profession has a central presence in the Human Trafficking industry? This January, we are providing salons with the educational tools they need to learn about a multi-billion dollar industry that is occurring in the United States every single day. We have partnered with the non-profit, Polaris Project, which is the organization behind the National Human Trafficking Hotline and a long-time advocate and hairstylist, Haley Garber, to provide you with resources and how to help.

“As hairdressers, we have the unique opportunity to put an end to modern-day slavery,” says Haley.

Salons & spas were the #1 venue for human trafficking last year.
Human trafficking is a $150 billion industry – which is larger than Nike, Google & Starbucks combined.
The top 4 reported ethnicities are Latino, Asian, African-American, White.
Cases of human trafficking increased by 25% last year.
Over 80% of human trafficking victims get help by calling or texting the Human Trafficking hotline.
