Stylists Serving Veterans

At an annual event in Oregon called Veterans Stand Down, Bishops Portland has been a sponsor that provides free haircuts and services for four years in a row. This gathering is held by Transition Projects which is a non-profit organization that serves veterans and their families who are experiencing homelessness or are in imminent danger of homelessness. Their goal of helping veterans find and keep safe, affordable, and permanent housing in the Portland metro area is an effort that Bishops Portland feels drawn to support in their local neighborhood.

There are dozens of ways you or your salon can help make a difference in the Veteran community, which is estimated to be 20 million of our Nation’s people. You can volunteer time, energy, and your passion by looking up services or events that are held in or around your community. This Monday, get involved by donating items or your time, it could be just the thing a Veteran needs this year.
