Meet Wella Color and Care Expert Julie Lapite
With over 20 years hair industry experience from managing a busy salon clientele in leading London, UK salons, and traveling the globe, Julie moved from the busy streets of London to join the Global Wella team 5 years ago in Geneva, Switzerland. Julie’s passion has always been color and believes no hair cut is complete without a color service. Within the last 5 years Julie has worked on the launch of Color Fresh Masks, a depositing temporary color mask, to refresh and enhance any professional color, from natural results to more playful and bold colorful results. To date this has been one of the most enjoyable development launches Julie has worked on!
Regarding Color Fresh Masks Julie worked very closely and carefully crafting each tone with the R&D team, selecting the names for each mask and also working on the package design. When asked about her favorite Color Fresh Mask Julie said, “I personally tried every natural mask within the natural portfolio. I didn’t launch anything without trying the application and color result on my own hair. I love them all and so proud of the feedback we have received from those that have used them- from both hairdressers and clients. And you will find in my bathroom, Rose Blaze, Golden Gloss, and lilac – and time to time I add a playful twist from Copper Glow! I can’t just have one!”
Julie also loves to create salon services which clients will love, and collaborates with many global artists to co create services and techniques. She recently worked with Brazilian hairdresser Romeu Felippe for Illuminage from Illumina Color. Illuminage, a look that Romeu has mastered, details and accentuates areas within the hair, framing the face and enhancing the perimeter. The Illuminage technique creates seamless transitions with multi-tonal reflections and a natural, sheer result.
