Smoothfiller
Wella Professionals SmoothFiller is a fast, minimalistic demi-permanent service that delivers smoother hair, reduced frizz, plus easier and faster styling for up to 3 months. Powered by a breakthrough technology and a vegan formula with just 8 ingredients, it fills hair with bond forming molecules for a natural, long-lasting smoothness.

TECHNOLOGY - HOW IT WORKS

Porosity gaps in hair can cause frizz, making hair difficult to style and manage.
The active ingredient penetrates deep inside the hair, rather than artificial coating of the hair’s surface.
Through thermal activation, the active ingredient fills the porosity gaps with a new longer-lasting bond.
The result is hair with incredible smoothness, effortless styling with less frizz, and natural movement every day for up to 3 months.

WHAT IS SMOOTHFILLER?

SERVICE STEPS

Shampoo the hair. Do not use conditioner. Pre-dry until 80% dry.
Apply the product, stay 0.5 cm off scalp. Develop for 20 min. Emulsify and rinse until water runs clear.
Blow dry until 100% dry. Straighten the hair in small sections, repeat 6–10 passes per section. After thermal activation, Smoothfiller service is ready.

Can SMF be used on extensions?

Yes, but the hair must be 100% human REMY hair (this means the cuticle goes in the same direction)

How often can you do this treatment?

Can use as often as you'd like but will only see maximum transformation when applied every 3 months, the product is cumulative.

If stylist uses SmoothFiller on a client, and the client doesnt like the results and wants to get a keratin treatment.. is this something they can do after having SmoothFiller? and if so, how long should they wait before having keratin done?

If the client is not satisfied with Smoothfiller, she should not get another keratin treatment for 4 weeks- or at least 7-8 washes. The pH of the hair needs to buffer back to above 6 and you would also like to have binding sites available again in the hair. Additionally there are a multitude of different treatments and technologies out there, so it is key the hair buffers back otherwise unwanted side reactions can occur. This it is KEY that the stylist consults well and ensures that the client is clear she does not expect to receive a keratin STRAIGHT look!

If a glossing service isn't done the same day, but rather is done the next day or a few days later, do they still need the 10min shampoo before glossing?

Depends on the washes done after the treatment. We observed that hair takes up to 5 washes to buffer back. To ensure minimal color shift we would recommend a good wash before the glossing.

If the salon has let the product sit for months on their self, does it separate and need stirring / will it still be good if the salon turns off their air conditioning every weekend? (They are in Florida, very hot/humid)

We are testing in our stability program, products stored for 6 Months at 40 degrees Celsius (should be around 100 Fahrenheit), and confirm stability. So above mentioned conditions are covered (close the lid properly).

If a client who just had SmoothFiller and hasn’t washed their hair yet touches up at home with a hair iron the next day, will the heat reactivate the treatment and make the hair even smoother since it hasn’t been shampooed?

No this will not make hair smoother. The binding sites will have reacted during the service and additional heat will not change performance.
