What do you love about the pro beauty industry?
Working out my passions and vision creatively is a massive blessing. Being able to make someone else look and feel better is something you never really get over. It is such gratifying work.
What is the most meaningful part of your role as a female artist in beauty?
It’s really important to me as a woman in the industry to lift other women up and show them that they can reach unimaginable heights. I think the beauty industry can become a competitive and ego filled space if we allow it. The role that I really take to heart is making everyone woman not only feel a sense of belonging but empowerment. Empowered to fight for their dreams and see them become a reality.
What is your favorite Wella, Nioxin, OPI, Clairol, Color Charm, Kadus or Sebastian product and why?
I’m obsessed with Wella’s Illumina Permanent Color line! The way that is makes hair shine from within is incredible. Also, the color direction of the line is on the cooler side that provides great control when lifting or shifting the natural hair keeping it from exposing unwanted warmth.
Do you have any advice for female stylists trying to grow their career?
Stay true to yourself and don’t compromise your art out of fear of what your clients or peers think. Stay super sharp with your skills seeking to learn new things daily. Don’t let yourself get to a place of complacency, push yourself to grow and to impart that knowledge to others.
