Your Go-To Brushes for Hair Painting
Wella Signature Artist Tommy Gentile always recommends having a variety of brushes on hand when doing balayage – specifically Wella Professionals Large Color Brush and Small Color Brush. He loves the soft feathered bristles that work beautifully for smooth applications and are made of strong Polypropylene.
For hair painting with Blondor Freelights, Tommy loves using the large brush when he is trying to get a heavy amount of product onto the section out at once. You will love this brush for loading up the section with the product – it’s your ideal power painter! Tommy recommends the smaller brush for more fine detailed work, such as around the front hairline where you want expert detail.
Tommy stresses the importance of also having backup brushes on hand with balayage. This is great for either adjusting saturation or if brushes just start to get a little bit too messy as you work. Classic Balayage is a surface painting technique that transitions into full saturation on the ends.
