From a Natural Level 3 to a Healthy Ice Blonde
Boston-based Field Signature Artist and blonding expert Jennifer Ng recently shared her meticulous blonding process for taking a client with a natural level 3 and pre-existing color on the ends to a healthy icy platinum blonde. Her secret to bringing this gorgeous color to life started with a thorough consultation. Jennifer set the expectations with her client right off the bat when she told her client that a healthy color result would only be achievable after two separate color sessions. Starting Point & Consultation:
Jennifer’s client started with a natural level 3 with warm color-treated ends. Her client was hopeful to experience platinum blonde within one visit. Through a detailed consultation, Jennifer explained the importance of maintaining the integrity of her hair. She explained to her client that the desired result icy blonde could only be reached after two sessions.
First Color Session:
Jennifer began with Blondor Multi Blonde Hair Lightener Powder with Welloxon Perfect Crème Developer 20 Volume (6%) on the mid-lengths and ends. She then applied Blondor Soft Blonde Hair Lightening Cream with Welloxon Perfect Crème Developer 20 Volume (6%) on roots. Using lighting cream on the roots is ideal for gentle blonde results. It’s specially designed for an on-scalp application. With this cream lightener, you can achieve reliable lightening with up to 7 levels of lift. This is the only product in the Blondor range that comes in the form of a cream. Its formula is enriched with protecting lipids to coat the hair and help protect it from moisture loss. She then let her client process for a full 50 minutes.
To tone, Jennifer used Color Touch Demi-Permanent Color
which allows you to experience the shine and vibrancy of a permanent color with the low commitment of a demi-permanent color. She used equal parts Color Touch 8/0 Light Blonde/Natural Demi-Permanent and Color Touch 9/16 Very Light Blonde/Ash Violet Demi-Permanent with Color Touch Developer Emulsion 6 Volume (1.9%) for 10 minutes to achieve a sandy blonde during the first session.
Second Color Session:
Several weeks later, Jennifer used Blondor Soft Blonde Hair Lightening Cream with Welloxon Perfect Crème Developer 20 Volume (6%) on roots to retouch her client’s regrowth. She also applied Blondor Soft Blonde Hair Lightening Cream with Welloxon Perfect Crème Developer 20 Volume (6%) all over to lift her to a pale yellow. Jennifer Processed her client for 50 minutes.
To tone, Jennifer used one part Illumina Color 9/60 Very Light Violet Natural Blonde Permanent Hair Color with one part Illumina Color 10/1 Lightest Ash Blonde Permanent Hair Color and one part Illumina Color 10/ Lightest Blonde Permanent Hair Color with Welloxon Perfect Crème Developer Pastel / 6 Volume (1.9%). She let the color process for 15 minutes to achieve an irresistible icy blonde. Illumina allows you to achieve luminous color and outstanding hair protection.
