Total Transformation 2019 Winner:

Danny Lozada

Danny Lozada (@dannylozadahair) is an accomplished editorial stylist, creative color expert, and proudly Puerto Rican. ? ??  This 2019 winner used his heritage as a source of inspiration to push through the competition.
“Participating in this competition gave me the opportunity to represent Puerto Rico in an international platform where you expose your work and make yourself known in the industry. For me, being a winner of #KadusTransformation2019 was a great experience, which I recommend to all stylists, as it helps you raise your potential to the highest level,” says Lozada.
Take a tip from a winner, entering competition is key to elevating your craft. ? And if you wanna win, you’ve gotta be bold. Lozada’s winning look featured shattered pastel and neon shades on a platinum base, with a strong bang to compliment his model’s face. Ultimately, his passion and heart fueled a work of art that won over our judges (and won Lozada $5000, tons of product, and continued education).

Men’s Hair 2019 Winner:

Adrean de la Parra

When barber Adrean de la Parra isn’t behind the chair, he’s busy refining his skills through competition. ✂️ His hard work paid off in 2019 when he advanced to the BEA finals with a look that paid tribute to David Bowie, featuring sharp angles and cosmic color that screamed Ziggy Stardust. ?
At the final round of competition in Hollywood, finalists were mentored by industry icons, like  SEB MAN Top Artist Josh Wagner. With his guidance, de la Parra transformed his model’s long locks into a signature pompadour, which won him title of the 2019 BEA Men’s Artist + $5,000 cash.
“Hard work and consistency pay off,” said de la Parra. “As I’ve learned: Dream big, work bigger!” ? And that’s on period.
De la Parra has continued his mastery of technical skills with training from top world educators – including exclusive mentorship opps as BEA winner. And you already know what we’re going to say: To elevate your craft, never stop learning! ?

Canada Color Artist of the Year 2019 Winner:

Elena Bogdanets

Elena Bogdanets roots her work in unveiling her client’s beauty, rather than creating it.
“I find it very easy for me to see the personality of every individual and help them let this personality shine through. By styling hair, I help people communicate their own image to the world and find their own style, whatever that might be.”
Now that’s a #PROtip…
It was this mindset that secured Bogdants the title of the Canadian Color Artist of the Year at last year’s Beauty Envision Awards. ? And it’s a mindset that has helped her grow beyond her time on stage.
“Winning gives me an amazing experience and opportunity to be part of the Wella creative family while sharing my vision and creativity with others. It also brings more opened-mind clients to my salon who are open to a progressive, modern look,” says Bogdanets.
Ready to take the plunge? Get started by learning about each category. To enter, share your best work to Instagram starting February 15th and add the category’s corresponding hashtag + @wellaeducation to your caption. Hurry – entries close May 1st!

Creative Hair & People’s Choice 2019 Winner:

Nico Norris

In less than five years, Nico Norris (@hairgasmsbynico) has become a salon pro ?‍♀️ and already taken home TWO Beauty Envision Awards trophies. ??
How? Norris started her career by testing her skills on family and friends – as many of us do. She then pursued an apprenticeship, continued her education, and quickly earned big industry opps, likes assisting at New York Fashion Week. Long story short – this hairdresser never ? stops ? moving. ?
Her 2019 entry “Metal Head” featured multi-length chain links connecting extensions to her model’s base with a sharp bang for an extra punch. The entry won her the final round of the competition in Hollywood, plus, earned her the 2019 People’s Choice Award.
While in Hollywood, finalists were mentored by industry pros, like celeb stylist & salon owner Marylle Koken (@kokentheharlot). Under her wing, Norris’ created a bold, braided ensemble featuring creative plaits, laid edges, and a bantu knot mohawk. Her eccentric and experimental creation crushed the competition, earning her the title of 2019 Creative Hair winner.
“Winning meant overcoming my own self-doubt and turning my dreams into reality. Being recognized for my work and invited back to create more has been life-changing,” says Norris.
Norris hasn’t slowed down since competition season – and she’d encourage you to do the same. Source some inspo through our Pinterest boards, then get started creating your BEA 2020 entry!

US Color Artist of the Year 2018 & 2019 Winner:

Emma Hancock

Emma Hancock (@masterpiecehair) first topped the North American TrendVision Awards in 2018, then ran it back AGAIN at the Beauty Envision Awards in 2019. ???
How? This confidence wasn’t created overnight. Hancock’s battled the same imposter syndrome we all face. Her career in competition actually started on a whim and continued as a way to prove her talents to herself.
“I thought it was a fluke that I had won, all luck probably. Then I told myself: You have to do another to prove to yourself that you deserved it.”
Last year, Hancock crafted one of her signature prism looks for the competition, blending perfect pastel tones into a muted, holographic gradient. Her model, Emilee Lee, wore the look on a cool, platinum base that was straightened to accentuate the multi-dimensional tones.
Despite her clear talent, Hancock’s competition wins CONTINUE to shock her. Her journey is a lesson for colorists everywhere – despite doubts, push your boundaries, take risks, enter, and you might just find yourself the next US Color Artist of the Year.
