This Transformation Took 8 Hours

Requests are still trending… some clients are ready to show off their natural grey hair. A hairstylist knows just how long this process takes and it is the responsibility of the stylist to prepare the client on what to expect! When we saw this STUNNING transformation on social media, we had to ask @stylesbysam about her process and the client’s commitment. Read below for the details and the formula:

Did this client want to go natural on this visit or did you consult her to do so? How long had she been growing out her natural color?

Yes, I discussed the process with this client several months in advance. It was important that she had a good deal of regrowth so that I could recreate her natural grey pattern. I told her how long the process would take that she also needed a significant haircut prior. I prepared her to bring lunch and I quoted 8 hours, however, she was prepared for 10 hours just in case. We made it at 8 hours.

How did you discuss the process and maintenance?

She was aware that she would need to return monthly for a toner and possibly to add more lowlights as her hair grew out. She did return and shockingly her hair held up incredibly after 4 weeks!!!

Your formula?

Step 1 – Back to back foils with Blondor Multi Blonde Powder + Welloxon 20 volume on the previous copper tint only.

Step 2 – Pre-tone with Color Touch 8/81 + 10/81 + Color Touch Emulsion 1.9%

Step 3 – Highlights with Blondor Multi Blonde Powder + Welloxon 20 volume on the root to the banding

Step 4 – Lowlights with Illumina 6/16 + 6/97 + Welloxon 10 volume

Step 5 – Colored between the foils with Color Touch 7/89 + a dab of 2/0

Step 6 – Final Toner with Color Touch 10/81 + a dab of 7/89 + Color Touch Emulsion 1.9%

Would you have done anything differently?

I would not have done anything differently. We were very prepared and we both loved the results.
