Generate Cash While Closed

Generate Cash While Closed

Social interaction is the core of our business, during this time we have all had to re-strategize how we are living day by day.  Below is a compiled list of ideas being shared throughout our industry and within the @wellaeducation community 💓. Photo Cred: @dudewithsign
  1. Virtual Consultations – whether you are talking your client out of box color or helping them apply Color Fresh, virtual consultations are something that your loyal clients will thank you for! Make sure you have provided an option for your clients to book video chats with you and that you have set a price! It’s a way for your client(s) to still support your business and your knowledge, even if while you cannot touch them.
  2. Color Refresh Kits – Offer a more temporary solution with Color Fresh and/or Insta Recharge to help your clients cover gray or freshen up their strands while at home. Kelsey Higginbotham teaches you everything that you need to know to prepare these while working from home.
  3. Retail – Make sure your clients know to replenish their care and styling from you! This is a great time to help them take care of their scalp and hair density, they are probably washing their hair less often and wearing it up more. Create an at-home regimen for them, be sure to include Night Density Rescue and deep conditioning treatments to be used weekly.
  4. Gift Cards – If you have already started promoting gift cards as a way to generate income, great job! Think of gift cards as an interest-free loan that you will be able to provide a service for later. Most POS systems are offering (easier than ever) ways for you to implement online gift cards into your goods & services. You can also OFFER ESSENTIAL WORKER GIFTCARDS! Encourage your community to give back to your essential workers with a gift card. You can even put special pricing, like purchase a $25 gift card for an essential community member for $20! Teachers, nurses, farmers, grocery store managers, etc.
  5.  #ShowYourRoots – if you are able to take the Stay @ Home orders seriously and do not need to make deliveries/pick-ups as an option to financially survive, ask your clients to wait for you like the campaign, #showyourroots.  Help your clients reschedule their services when the time comes to open and do not put off thinking about your reopening strategy!
  6. Ratings & Reviews – there is no time like the present to work on your business while you cannot be inside of your business! If you have not been able to generate ratings and reviews easily in the past, start now! Whether you’ve provided a delivery, gift card, or previous service to a client- let them know that you are working on building your online presence! This way, when you reopen, your salon’s chances of appearing in local searches will rise to the top! Make it easy for clients by sending them the links of where you want to focus on increasing your 5 stars!
  7. Local Salon Go Fund Me – this is another option that can help salons that service entire communities. If your salon has been drastically affected and you may not be able to hold onto it for the coming weeks, do not be afraid to ask for help from your community.
  8. Keep clients informed but respect their journey – Be ready to communicate via email, social media, text, and your website by letting clients know when you do have a re-open date and whether you will be extending hours or be open more days to accommodate all of those roots!
