She was recently featured on #WellaEdFromHome to show you how to package and sell Client Survival Kits using Color Fresh and Insta Recharge.
Color Fresh is a semi-permanent hair color that offers depth as well as tone, it comes in a bottle applicator and can be applied by your clients at home. While it was designed as an in-between color services refresh, it will become one of your salon survival approaches while we are all home during COVID-19! Color Fresh will not offer 100% grey coverage but it does offer 30% grey coverage which is far better than zero. There are 26 inter-mixable shades!

#PROTIP: You can still give your clients a custom formula because the 26 shades are inter-mixable. However, if you give them two shades, they will need to be confident in mixing and applying their own semi-permanent color with a bowl and brush OR you will have to pre-mix in a bottle applicator for them. We recommend swatching the shades first!
#SAFETYTIP: Please follow ALL sanitary guidelines when creating these kits. Wear gloves, sanitize, and keep the recommended distance when dropping off the kits.
HOW TO USE COLOR FRESH:
- The client will apply to shampooed, towel-dried hair. We recommend scheduling virtual consultations before providing clients any home solution and also a virtual application session to help them apply!
- Have your client apply color while wearing gloves and ensuring even distribution by having them comb through. Remind them to wear an old button-down shirt or wrap an old towel around their shoulders.
- Process 5-20 minutes, depending on the desired color intensity and hair condition. Color Fresh pH is a 6.5.
PROTIP: Only you know your client’s hair and personality! If they have very porous ends, help them understand that their ends will likely absorb the color more intensely. Maybe encourage them to skip their ends and emulsify the ends the last 3-5 minutes only.
Give your clients some confidence! Tell them, if you’ve ever decorated a cake with the gel icing, the consistency and bottle application is a lot like that! Talk them through the process via a virtual application consultation. They will love you for being there for them. – Kelsey Higginbotham
