What do you love about the pro beauty industry?
I went to hair school after college because I have always loved helping others and making people feel good about themselves. As a hairstylist, there is a client to professional dynamic that cannot be explained unless you are one of us! Even strangers, if I tell them I’m a hairstylist, we are instant pals. Even though I am no longer behind the chair, I am inspired by hair and nail artistry every day. The talent of our industry and our ability to influence self-confidence is underrated. I also love wearing all black, whoever set that standard a long time ago, I appreciate you!
What is the most meaningful part of your role?
My role in digital education has two parts and I love both of them! Working with our mobile education app has allowed me to understand how an app actually works! (PS, download it here: Apple Store or Google Play) I am also now responsible for creating weekly education content for Wella Store, this has been very rewarding for me to see our customers reading our newsletters and blogs. I appreciate every open and click on the material that I am curating for you!
What is a fun fact about you?
I’m a backpacker! I love nature and being outside more than anything. It’s the #1 reason I moved to Southern California from Cincinnati 10 years ago! I didn’t have a job before moving here and I only had $1,200 saved, but I knew that I wanted to live somewhere where I could spend nearly every day outside.
What is your favorite product and why?
Illumina! Since we launched Illumina over 5 years ago, I still think the versatility and tones are stunning. I can usually spot Illumina hair anywhere! I have given many, many strangers a subtle suggestion to “ask your hairstylist for Illumina next time” and then I text them a picture of the box to show their stylist.
