Lightning Bolt Color with Wella Professionals Blondor Multi Blonde Hair Lightener Powder and Color Fresh CREATE
On Wella Education Exposed, International Artist Marylle Koken and her team at The Harlot Salon in West Hollywood, California, transform their model’s naturally textured hair with lightning bolt color. They also design a 70s inspired shag with a razor cut. Section: Lightning Bolt
The team took a clean vertical section at the start of the hairline through to the nape. They intentionally took the vertical section off-center to customize the color result, which led to a striking lightning bolt effect once the hair was lightened and colored.
Lighten: Wella Professionals Blondor Multi Blonde Hair Lightener Powder and Welloxon Perfect Crème Developer 20 Volume (6%)
To begin the lightning process, they took two sub-sections starting at the front hairline. The team then began lightening with Blondor Multi Blonde Hair Lightener Powder and foils, placing slices of the hair into 4 foils at the front hairline. They then continued taking the same slices through the back of the head.

Treatment: Wella Professionals Color Post Treatment
Next, they used Color Post Treatment which helps strengthen the freshly lightened hair and ensures an even and bold result. They left this in for 5 minutes.
Marylle and Karamia applied both Color Fresh CREATE colors on dry hair and processed the color with heat for 15 minutes. Color Fresh CREATE is expressive semi-permanent color that is ammonia-free, fragrance-free, and peroxide-free. These beautiful pure tone dyes last for up to 20 washes. They then did a light cleanse with Twisted Shampoo and applied Color Post Treatment once again to normalize the hair’s pH.

Cut on Wet Hair: Sebastian Professional Twisted Curl Lifter Foam
Marylle applied the curl lifting foam to prepare for the razer cut, which boosts hair elasticity and controls hair frizz. She then cut organic layers to enhance the model’s natural texture and coiled the hair with a comb before letting the hair dry naturally. Once the model’s hair dried, she separated the curls with twisted styling spray and customized the finish with a GHD Styler.
