WHAT IS ILLUMINA COLOR?
Wella Professionals Illumina Color is a luxurious permanent color for 100% natural looking color results. Illumina Color offers an extensive palette to compliment a variety of in-salon techniques. Discover a palette of cool shades ideal for reducing warmth and
creating iridescent blondes and delicate brunette. A palette of natural-looking warm shades including luminous
blondes, soft coppers and irresistible brunettes. Or, A palette of neutral shades from light blonde to dark brunette to use alone
or with any other Illumina Color shade.
MIXING + PROCESSING TIME
Mix Wella Professionals Illumina Color in a 1:1 mixing ratio, one part Illumina Color with one part Wella Professionals Welloxon Perfect Creme Developer. Select from Welloxon Perfect Developer Pastel 1.9% (6 volume), 3% (10 volume), 6% (20 volume), 9% 30 volume or 12% (40 volume) based upon desired end result.
Full-Head Application:
Apply Illumina Color from roots
to ends, on dry hair.
Regrowth Application
: Apply to root area. (Approximately, the first 1
/2 inch).
Develop Illumina Color for 30-40 minutes, or 15-25 minutes with a Climazon.

Introducing 4 NEW Illumina Color warm shimmer shades. 9/37 Blonde Glow: Very Light Blonde Gold Brown, 8/36 Luminescent Clay: Light Blonde Gold Violet, 7/75 Brunette Shimmer: Medium Blonde Brown Mahogany and 7/42 Copper Blush: Medium Blonde Red Matte. Utilize each shade on their own, or customize any look and formulate with additional shades from the Illumina Color collection.
CREATIVE WAYS TO USE ILLUMINA COLOR
GRAY COVERAGE: Reach for Illumina Color and select any shade for up to 70% gray coverage. For 70-100% gray coverage,
mix 1:1 with a corresponding Illumina
Color natural shade
and Wella Professionals Welloxon Perfect Creme Developer 6% (20 volume).
LUMINOUS LIGHTENING: Lift up to 3 levels with Illumina Color when lightening for the first time. STEP ONE: Apply the color mixture
to the mid-lengths and ends only. Leave approximately half inch
free from the scalp. Develop for 15-20 minutes. Do not rinse.
STEP TWO: Mix fresh color and apply
to the roots. Develop for full
development time.
COLOR BALANCING: Revive color
on the mid-lengths and ends with Illumina Color. For even
and balanced color results, mix one part Illumina Color with two parts Wella Professionals Welloxon Perfect Creme Developer. Develop for 10-15 minutes.
BLONDE TONING: Achieve a beautiful finish after pre-lightening services with Illumina Color. Natural
underlying pigments are exposed throughout the lightening process, neutralize and tone with Illumina Color, to create
a beautiful luminous finish. Apply to the lightened areas
needing optimal neutralization
first. Comb through for balanced
results. Visually watch until
desired results are achieved. Mix one part Illumina Color with two parts Wella Professionals Welloxon Perfect Pastel Creme Developer 1.9% (6 volume). Develop for 10-15 minutes. #PROTIP: Formulate with golden tones to maintain
brightness and lightness.

#GETTHELOOK: Illumina Color Formulas
ILLUMINA NUDE
STEP ONE: Add depth to the first 1/2" - 1" of hair at the base to create a deeper natural looking root area. Select a dark, cool Illumina Color shade to achieve the look. Mix Illumina Color 6/19 + Wella Professionals Welloxon Perfect Pastel Creme Developer 1.9% (6 volume) in a 1:2 mixing ratio.
STEP TWO: Lighten with Illumina Color, creating diagonal back sections through the back of the headform to create soft, natural dimension. Move to horizontal sections in the front sections and softly frame the face with custom color placement. Mix Illumina Color 7/81 + 8/69 and Wella Professionals Welloxon Perfect Creme Developer 9% (30 volume).
STEP THREE: Color the surrounding hair with the base color to create a multi-dimensional color result. #PROTIP: For soft dimension, keep contrast between shades approximately two levels apart.
ILLUMINA GLOW
STEP ONE: Apply the root color to the first 1/2" of the hair strand. Mix Illumina Color 5/81 + 7/7 with Wella Professionals Welloxon Perfect Pastel Developer 1.9% (6 volume) in a 1:2 mixing ratio.
STEP TWO: Lighten with Illumina Color. Take a zig-zag parting around the hairline, and lighten each of the triangles around the face. Continue the zig-zag sectioning around the headform. Complete three rows, leaving hair in between each row to maintain dimension. Mix Illumina Color 10/93 + 10/69 with Wella Professionals Welloxon Perfect Creme Developer 9% (30 volume). 1:1 mixing ratio.
STEP THREE: Apply a medium shade to the mid-lengths and ends to create soft dimension throughout the final look. Mix Illumina Color 8/36 and Wella Professionals Welloxon Perfect Creme Developer 6% (20 volume). 1:1 mixing ratio. #PROTIP: If hair has been previously colored, reach for Wella Professionals Blondor Multi Blonde Lightener + Wella Professionals Welloxon Perfect Creme Developer to brighten. Balance and tone with Wella Professionals Shinefinity.
ILLUMINA BLUSH
STEP ONE: Alternate weaves and slices around the front hairline to achieve brightness around the face. Mix Wella Professionals BlondorPlex Lightening Powder + Wella Professionals Welloxon Perfect Creme Developer 6% (20 volume). 1:1.5 mixing ratio. #PROTIP: If the salon guest has a fringe, add pops of brightness to the ends to harmonize with additional brightness around the face.
STEP TWO: Alternate two formulas, in large sections, to add dimension through the lengths and ends. Mix FORMULA 1: Illumina Color 7/42 with Wella Professionals Welloxon Perfect Creme Developer 6% (20 volume), and FORMULA 2: Illumina Color 9/43 + 9/37 with Wella Professionals Welloxon Perfect Creme Developer 6% (20 volume).
STEP THREE: Add a root shadow and glaze to the mid-strands and ends for a seamless blend. ROOT SHADOW: Mix Illumina Color 7/ + 7/42 and Wella Professionals Welloxon Perfect Creme Developer 6% (20 volume). GLAZE: Mix Illumina Color 9/43 + Wella Professionals Welloxon Perfect Pastel Creme Developer 1.9% (6 volume).
