Artist Spotlight: Tiffany

Name: Tiffany Pegula @hairluvbytiffany

Occupation / Salon Name: Celebrity Hairstylist, Owner of Hair Luv by Tiffany in Los Angeles and Founder of Bleu Luna Hair.

About: Tiffany started off in the industry as a hair and make-up artist for television and movies before getting her license.

What do you love about the pro beauty industry? I love doing hair, but what I really love about our industry is that it’s also a vessel I use to authentically connect with real people. I love reminding people of their beauty and exploring options they never thought possible!

What is the most meaningful part of your role as a Black artist in beauty? As a Black hairstylist and colorist, I love the fact that I have clients from different backgrounds and ethnicities! And, Black artists have an advantage of bringing our experience, upbringing and background into our business!

What is fun fact about you? I’ve fostered over 30 children and I’m a mother of four girls – two of my daughters are adopted and my other two little ones are my stepdaughters;) Another fun or interesting fact about me I also created a 4 week mentoring program to help entrepreneurs with clearer messaging which will in turn attract the right clients their way!

Who is someone that inspires you most? Jasmine Leilani, my mentee (@JasmineLeilani__). She lives in Key West, Florida and is really talented!

What is your favorite Wella, Nioxin, OPI, ghd, Clairol, Color Charm, Kadus or Sebastian product and why? My favorite Wella product is Color Touch! I love the fact that it’s a conditioning color and the shine that provides is on match!

Do you have any advice for Black stylists to grow their career? My advice for black hairstylists is to share more of your stories. Stories are what gains traction and gets the ball rolling; it also helps retain clients. It’s totally fine to be private but it’s important we remind people of why they should continue choosing us time after time. Our story is ours which means we are an expert at it!
